Why click stuffing costs advertisers so much
The damage goes beyond wasted clicks. Click stuffing corrupts your bidding data, distorts your audiences, and erodes the performance of every campaign it touches.
Click stuffing is a fraud technique used primarily in affiliate marketing and display advertising where fraudsters secretly load multiple ad clicks into a single page visit. When a user visits a website, hidden iframes fire clicks across multiple advertisers' ads simultaneously. If that user subsequently makes a purchase from any of those advertisers, the fraudulent click receives the attribution credit — stealing commission from the legitimate channel that actually drove the conversion.
For advertisers running last-click attribution models, click stuffing is especially damaging because it silently redirects commission payouts away from the channels that genuinely earned the sale. Over time, this inflates the apparent performance of affiliate and display channels, causing budget to shift toward sources that are generating no incremental value.

How Tapper detects and blocks click stuffing
Real-time detection and blocking across all your ad platforms, with no engineering required.
01
Detect hidden click injection patterns
Tapper identifies the signature patterns of click stuffing — multiple simultaneous click events from a single session, hidden iframe activity, and attribution timestamps that precede plausible user journeys.
02
Validate click-to-conversion paths
Each conversion is traced back through its attributed click path. Conversions where the attributed click shows stuffing characteristics are flagged before commission payouts are approved.
03
Restore accurate attribution
With click stuffing removed, attribution credit flows to the channels that genuinely drove your conversions, giving you accurate data to allocate budget and assess partner performance.
Choose your platform
Each platform has its own variation of click stuffing. Tapper handles all of them.

“When we take low-quality traffic out of the funnel before it reaches the algorithm, the campaign optimises against cleaner signals and the efficiency comes through quickly. For AMA Nissan, that was a 40% lift in conversion rate and a lower CPA on Google, with nothing else in the setup changing. That is the kind of result we want to offer clients as a matter of course.”

“We've been using Tapper for over a year now, and it has become a core part of how we run paid media. Invalid traffic was always something we knew existed but couldn't really act on. Tapper changed that. We're now saving up to $50K per year, and on PureSquare specifically, we saw around a 20% decrease in CPA. Based on these results, we decided to roll it out across other ventures under Disrupt as well.”
